The Preserve Sporting Club Is The Perfect Summer Getaway
The Preserve: A Surreal Combination of Outdoor Adventure and Luxury in Rhode Island
Rhode Island is home to many resorts and hotels. While some places specialize in luxury or amazing food or even activities, few bring all of those into one resort as wonderfully as The Preserve Sporting Club. Entering the grounds of The Preserve Sporting Club, you are instantly struck by its grandeur.
Located on 3,500 acres of lush Rhode Island landscape, The Preserve Sporting Club & Residences is home to a wealth of activities for sporting enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Originally designed as a private sporting club, the property has since evolved into an expansive resort with year-round offerings.
The main focus here is world-class outdoor experience, which the property excels at providing, along with upscale amenities and meals that are worth bragging about. Both thrill-seekers and those seeking leisure will find lots to enjoy, including the nation’s longest indoor shooting range and a revitalizing spa. Here are some things to consider before checking in if you are planning a trip.
The Preserve Sporting Club & Residences offers a wide range of adventure activities, including fly fishing from one of 13 fully stocked ponds, clay shooting, and horseback riding. In addition, there is an indoor shooting range, tennis, archery, mountain biking, kayaking and canoeing, campfire happy hours, and more for visitors to enjoy.
The property’s numerous nature paths, which are surrounded by beautiful land, are open all year round. Lastly, we would be remissed if we didn’t mention The Equestrian Center, which offers various horse-related experiences, including horseback riding, carriage rides, and horse interactions.
If you want to unwind, spend the afternoon at the OH! Spa, which is housed inside the main Hilltop Lodge of the resort. In addition to an outstanding variety of therapies, visitors may enjoy 12,000 square feet of space for rejuvenation, including hot whirlpools, a cold plunge shower, and an outdoor infinity-edge pool. For the ultimate getaway, each locker room has a steam shower, whirlpool, and private sauna.
From modern townhomes and roomy single-family homes for bigger parties to cozy tiny homes and opulent rooms and suites at the Hilltop Lodge, the site provides more than 22 different types of lodging spread among 53 rooms and residences.
Cozy beds with premium Matouk linens, Molton Brown amenities, and free drinks and nibbles to keep you going are features of every accommodation. In addition to fully functional kitchens, dining rooms, and warm fireplaces, some suites also have private patios or balconies.
From the Double Barrel Steak House to the H20 Cafe, a poolside bar and grill ideal for summers, the Preserve Sporting Club & Residences provides a number of fine dining alternatives. One of the most noteworthy dining experiences here is a dinner in one of the three Maker’s Mark Hobbit Houses on the property.
Here, you can reserve a rustic private dinner party with a fine bourbon pairing and an upscale grilled menu, all served on a table made from repurposed whisky barrels.
The degree of service provided by the resort, with very few exceptions, was one aspect of my stay that truly caught my attention. We had a warm welcome and attentive treatment from the owner to the general manager. Although we weren’t there at prime time, I’m sure the visiting media receive more attention, but the waitresses, store employees, drivers, and others all appeared genuinely kind and content with their professions.
