mastercard midnight theatre is hosting Brian Newman After Dark: Fangtasia, a Halloween edition of Grammy-award winning vocalist and trumpeter, and Lady Gaga’s bandleader, Brian Newman’s weekly show, Brian Newman After Dark on Friday, October 25th.

The night will feature live music by Brian Newman & The Brian Newman Band, vinyl DJs, and performances by burlesque artists, shapeshifters, witches, and more! The lineup includes Burlesque star Angie Pontani, The Midnight Dancers, Lilin, and other standout acts.

Edge x Peakaboo Villain’s Veil Presented by Mastercard

Peak, a stunning restaurant, bar and event space, located on the 101st floor of 30 Hudson Yards, is hosting the Villain’s Veil at Peakaboo, in collaboration with Edge on Thursday, October 31st. This unforgettable night combines epic skyline views with DJ sets, live performances, and a glamorous villain-themed atmosphere.

This free event is shaping up to be a ghoulishly delightful celebration with plenty of magic, entertainment, and treats for families and children of all ages.

Ingredients

2 oz. Casamigos Blanco Tequila

1 oz. Fresh Pineapple Juice

1 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice

.5 oz. Simple Syrup

.25 oz. Blue Curaçao

Garnish 2 Butterfly Pea Ice Cubes* and Casa Teal Rock Candy

Method

Combine all ingredients into tin shaker. Add ice, shake vigorously and strain into martini glass. Add 2 butterfly pea ice cubes and garnish.

*To create Butterfly Pea Ice Cubes / Makes 1L — Bring 4.5 cups of water to a boil in a medium sized pot. Then put on simmer, add ½ cup of dried butterfly pea leaves and let steep for 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then fine strain contents into another medium sized pot, pressing down on the leaves to extract all the liquid and let cool. Once cool, pour into a glass container with lid and store in refrigerator. Good for 2–3 weeks if stored properly.

FANGED KISS

Ingredients

1.5 oz. Casamigas Jalapeño Tequila

.75 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

.75 oz. Simple Syrup

1 Dash Spicy Bitters or 1 Jalapeño Slice

8–10 Cilantro Leaves

Garnish Vampire Fangs and Food Grade Red Dye Honey Blood Drip*

Method

Roll upper portion of martini glass in food grade red dye honey and swirl until coating the entire rim of glass. Then slowly spin glass at an angle and let red honey drip down exterior wall of glass.

Combine all ingredients into tin shaker. Muddle cilantro (and jalapeno if using), add ice, shake vigorously, fine strain into martini glass and garnish.

To create Red Dye Honey — Pour approximately 2 oz of honey into a medium bowl or plate, add 1–2 drops of food grade red dye and stir well until evenly colored. Keep at room temperature for best mixability.

SMOKY HALLOWEEN COLADA

Ingredients

1.5 oz. Casamigos Mezcal Joven

.75 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

.75 oz. Fresh Pineapple Juice

.75 oz. Coconut Purée

.5 oz. Grenadine

.25 oz. Ginger Syrup

½ Thick Rim Black Lava Salt/Sugar 2:1 Ratio

Garnish Charred Dehydrated Orange Wheel

Method

Wet ½ rim of a clear Tiki or hurricane glass with lime wheel or wedge and dip into salt mixture. Pour grenadine directly into glass, then fill glass with fresh pebble/crushed ice. Combine the rest of the ingredients into a tin shaker, add ice, shake vigorously and strain into glass. Top off with pebble/crushed ice, creating a dome-like top, and garnish.

Blood Moon

Ingredients

1 1/2 oz BACARDÍ Superior Rum

1/2 oz Monin Blood Orange Syrup

1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice

2 ox Ginger Beer

Blood Orange

Amarena Cherries

Method

Combine BACARDÍ Superior Rum, lime juice, syrups in a shaker tin with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into Collins glass over fresh ice and top with ginger beer. Stir to incorporate. Garnish with blood orange + cherry

PATRÓN Black Magic-Rita

Ingredients

2 oz PATRÓN EL ALTO

1 oz blackberry syrup

1 oz fresh lime juice

2 drops of Scrappy’s Fire Water Tincture

Black lava salt

Method

In a shaker combine PATRÓN EL ALTO, blackberry syrup, lime juice, and ice and shake. Strain and pour over ice in a rocks glass with a black salt rim. Top with two drops of fire water tincture and a sugar spider web garnish.

Blackberry Syrup

In a small saucepan, mix one cup of sugar, one cup of water with five large blackberries. Simmer and let the sugar melt. Once the blackberries are soft, muddle them with the back of a spoon. Strain through a fine mesh strainer and let cool.

Sugar Spider Web Garnish

Combine 1 ¼ cups of sugar, ¼ cup of light corn syrup, and ¼ cup of water with muddled blackberries in a small saucepan. Start on low heat and periodically whisk to increase temperature. Using a candy thermometer, bring the mixture to 300 degrees. Place the saucepan in an ice bath and bring it down to 275 degrees. Using a fork, spin your cobweb design by drizzling the mixture over parchment in your desired shape.

Midnight Widow

Ingredients

1 1/2 oz BACARDÍ Coconut Rum

1 oz Cold Brew

1/4 oz Vanilla

Espresso Salt

Method

Combine all ingredients into shaker over ice and shake vigorously. Strain into Collins glass over fresh ice. Stir to incorporate. Garnish with espresso salt.

Ghoulish Green Tea Taster

This ghoulish green cocktail is the perfect witch’s brew for your Halloween festivities, adding some sweetness to your witchy festivities.

Ingredients

1 oz Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey

1 oz Peach Schnapps

1 oz Lemon-Lime Soda

1 oz Sours Mix

Method

CIDER SEASON COCKTAIL

2 Parts Espolòn Tequila Reposado

4 Parts Earl Grey Cider*

1 Part Spiced Simple Syrup*

Method

Combine all non-spirit ingredients in a saucepan and heat but do not boil. Add in Espolòn once hot. Reheat on low to keep warm as needed.

* Add half gallon cider to a pot and bring heat to a lower simmer. Add 4 tea bags of Earl Grey Tea and allow to steep together, covered, for 25 minutes. Remove tea bags.

16 oz Hot Water

2 Cups White Sugar

Method

Take cinnamon, clove, and star anise, and toast them in a pan on the stove for about 1 minute. Put the toasted spices into a vessel and add hot water. Brew for 20 minutes and remove solids. Mix in sugar and stir until diluted.

Witches Brew Sour

A hauntingly delicious blend of Dewar’s 12-Year Old, maple syrup, and blood orange juice, with a fiery kick of ginger and a touch of bitters, conjures up the perfect potion for a spooky Halloween night.

Ingredients

2 oz of Dewar’s 12 Year Old

0.75 oz Lemon Juice

.5 oz Maple Syrup

.5oz of Ginger Sryup

.75 oz Blood Orange Juice

2 dashes Augustora Bitters

Method

Add bourbon, lemon juice and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

Shake well and pour into an Old Fashioned cocktail glass. Fill with ice.

To achieve the layered float effect, gently pour the Hearth Cabernet Sauvignon over the back of a spoon, letting it rest on the surface of the already-poured cocktail mixture.

Ingredients

1 part Averna

2 parts Russell’s Reserve 6 Year Rye

2 dashes Angostura Bitters

Mix all ingredients with ice.

Method

Combine all ingredients in a shaker and shake vigorously. Strain over fresh ice and garnish with star anise and a dried apple slice.

Ingredients

2 parts Basil Hayden® Bourbon

¾ part Demerara Syrup*

2 dashes Angostura® Bitters

Half of a Lemon

5 Fresh Blackberries

3 Sage Leaves (2 for garnish)

1 sprig of Thyme (for garnish)

Method

Place half of a lemon and the blackberries into a cocktail shaker and lightly press with the back of a bar spoon

Add remaining ingredients, including one sage leaf, to cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously.

Strain into a rocks glass over ice.

Garnish with remaining two sage leaves and a sprig of thyme.

*Demerara Syrup can be purchased, or homemade by combining a 1:1 ratio of Demerara sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
