Check It Out: Magic Hour Rooftop’s ‘The Pink Winter Lodge’

--

Manhattan’s ‘it’ rooftop bar and lounge, Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge at Moxy Times Square — known for their much-anticipated holiday installs season after season — is celebrating sky-high eating and drinking this season with a new apres-ski holiday pop-up — bigger and better than years prior.

‘The Pink Winter Lodge’ will be a pink twist on the posh winter slopes and ski towns around the globe. Think: a rotating carousel glistening with 25,000 crystals…

Tao Group Hospitality collaborated with Design House Décor for this year’s theme, which will transform the all-season rooftop into a pink oasis featuring floor-to-ceiling pink log walls, a frosted flower arch glowing with custom pink antler chandeliers and endless new photo moments through April 2022.

The iconic carousel will feature frosted pink flowers, and custom ski lifts to transport you straight to the snow-capped mountains. Plus, the East Terrace will feature a pink gondola photo moment with festive snow gear and diamond-encrusted skis.

Winter in New York City may be frosty and frigid, but there’s nothing warmer than gathering with friends and family for some hot or chilled cocktails specially curated by Beverage Director Nikki McCutcheon. The menu of seasonal sips will boast a handful of boozy offerings such as:

  • The Double Pink Diamond ($20): Milagro Reposado, Fresh Lime, Agave, Red Bull Blueberry, Triple Berry Pink Sugar Rim served in Diamond Shaped Glass
  • 24K Magic ($20): Hudson Bourbon, Spiked Eggnog, Aztec Chocolate, Dusted with Nutmeg and garnished with Gold Leaf Flakes
  • Après Ski ($18): Vodka, White Chocolate Liqueur, Soy Milk, Mini Marshmallows
  • Bubbles & Bling ($155): Moet Champagne with flutes and rock candy served table-side

Magic Hour’s full dinner menu will be available alongside specialty seasonal menu items and sweet treats by Executive Pastry Chef Erin Cayaban such as:

  • The Sweetest Surprise ($24): pink gift box with a sparkly golden-red bow including layers of caramel ganache, chocolate cake, and chocolate mousse with an explosive rainbow sprinkle center. *only 20 served a night
  • Pink Bling Donut Rings ($14): gluten-free strawberry donuts with pink frosting, sprinkled with glitter
  • Pink Frosted Cupcake ($10): rum infused chocolate cupcake topped with eggnog frosting
  • The Pink S’mores Stack ($18): homemade s’mores topped with disco cotton candy with a pink chocolate sauce drizzle

Dinner service will be offered daily, with brunch on Saturdays and Sundays with a menu of indulgent dishes such as the Pink AF Pancake Stack ($45) and Cinnamon Rolls ($5).

Moxy Times Square’s pink look continues on for the holidays; head to the hotel’s atrium on the 2nd floor where you will be transported to a pink winter wonderland. The all-pink décor, including a Christmas Tree and Menorah, will be complemented by a life-size version of Santa’s sleigh that is perfect for Instagrammable moments.

Swing by December 9–12th (Thursday 6–9 PM ET / Friday — Sunday 4–7 PM ET) for the Pink Holiday Pop-Up with haircuts from Blind Barber, portrait drawings by Ian Sklarsky, live music, and more. And, head to Bar Moxy for their spiked signature Pink Hot Chocolate ($18), complete with Vodka, Baileys Red Velvet, and Soy Milk.
