Celebrate National Tequila Day With These 8 DIY Recipes

t’s National Tequila Day in the United States. And if there’s ever a year in which we deserve a shot or two, 2020 is it.

In honor of the holiday, here are some crafty recipes that you can enjoy at home or while maintaining a safe social distance with a few friends.

Cincoro Margarita

A unique twist on a classic, featuring Cincoro Blanco perfectly balanced with citrus and agave nectar. Served over ice.

2 oz Cincoro Blanco Tequila

1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

¾ oz Cointreau

¼ oz Agave Nectar

Method: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain over fresh ice in a Double Old-Fashioned glass.

Garnish: Lime Wheel

Cincoro Old Fashioned

A modern twist of a classic cocktail with Cincoro Anejo with agave nectar and bitters. Served over ice.

2 ½ oz Cincoro Anejo Tequila

½ oz Light Agave Nectar

3 dashes of Angostura® Bitters

Method: Pour ingredients into a mixing glass, stir and strain directly in a Rocks glass over ice.

Garnish: Orange swath and Maraschino cherry

Camarena Cantarito

Ingredients

1.5 oz. Camarena Silver

1 oz. Orange Juice

1 oz. Fresh Lemon or Lime Juice (preferred)

1 oz. Grapefruit or Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice

Top with Lemon Lime or Grapefruit Soda (preferred)

Directions

Add all ingredients into a collins glass filled with ice. Stir together to combine/chill. Garnish with fresh lemon, lime, and orange quarters.

Agave Swizzle

Ingredients

2 oz. Camarena Reposado

.75 oz. Agave Nectar

.75 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice

4 Dashes of Angostura Bitters

8 to 10 Mint Leaves

Directions

Place mint leaves at the bottom of the glass. Gently muddle the leaves with a muddler. Add remaining ingredients (except bitters) into a collins glass and fill with crushed ice. Take a bar spoon and “swizzle” holding the spoon in the palm of your hands and twirl until the glass frosts. Top with the bitters. Garnish with a bouquet of mint.

Austin Cocktails Perfect Bergamot Orange Margarita

For easy National Tequila Day sipping, look no further than the Austin Cocktails Perfect Bergamot Orange Margarita, created by combining premium tequila, natural bergamot orange, triple sec, lime, and organic agave nectar.

Method: Shake your Austin Cocktails Perfect Bergamot Orange Margarita, pour over ice, and garnish with lime.

Spicy Strawberry Lime Margarita

8 oz PATRÓN Silver

4 oz PATRÓN Citrónge Lime

12 Fresh strawberries

4 oz Fresh lime juice

2 oz Simple syrup

2 cups Ice

+ Half of a fresh jalapeño

METHOD: Combine ingredients in a blender pitcher and blend thoroughly. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness to your liking, as berries and citrus may vary with the season. Pour into frozen mason jars. Garnish with half of a strawberry and a jalapeño coin.

Frozen Margarita

4 oz PATRÓN Silver

1.5 oz PATRÓN Citrónge Orange

1 oz Lime juice

.5 oz Orange juice

1 oz Agave syrup (50/50)

METHOD: Add ingredients to blender and fill with ice just above liquid line. Blend until a uniform consistency is achieved. (Add more ice to blender if desired.) Pour into a coupe. Garnish with lime and lemon wheel.

The Grilled Peach Margarita

2oz Cointreau

2oz Tequila

1oz Fresh Lime Juice

2oz Smoked Peach Juice

5 Mint Leaves

Directions

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Fine strain over ice into a rocks glass. Garnish and fine strain over ice into a rocks glass.

Smoked Peach Juice

Caramelize the sugars by placing halved, pitted peaches on a grill until medium char is reached. Let cool. Peel off skin, blend and strain. Wait until the peach juice has completely cooled off before adding to cocktails.
