Australia’s Highly Anticipated Hotel Opens: Ritz-Carlton, Perth

--

We have some news from down under! Australia’s most anticipated hotel openings, The Ritz-Carlton, Perth opened its doors today, November 15th. This opening marks the return of the Ritz-Carlton brand in Australia in nearly two decades — a big moment for Perth, Western Australia as the city has seen unprecedented growth and transformation in recent years.

The hotel’s unique location at The Elizabeth Quay waterfront precinct, which connects the heart of the city to the Swan River, creates a new destination for the city’s booming tourism industry and dining scene.

Conceptually designed, the hotel pays homage to the history, culture and natural beauty of Western Australia in every corner utilizing WA materials in its build. The attention to detail is remarkable, including:

· 10,000 pieces of Kimberley sandstone were hand-picked and have been installed throughout the exterior and inside of the lobby, bringing to life the dramatic Western Australian landscape and transporting guests to the rich natural wonder of the Kimberley, creating a sense of walking through the Karijini gorges.

· A custom chandelier in the lobby sparkles with 275 lights reminiscent of water cascading through a Karijini gorge.

· The builders used pink mirrored glass in the upper portion of the building’s exterior, symbolic of the Western Australian sunset and the pink Argyle diamonds in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia.

· Items dredged and dug up from the Elizabeth Quay site have been repurposed into sculptures throughout the lobby area, including china from broken crockery and old anchors.

Beyond design, the hotel’s two unique food and beverage venues led by celebrated local Executive Chef Jed Gerrard will spotlight the flavors, producers and winemakers unique to the region. At the signature restaurant, Hearth, showcasing traditional cooking techniques, guests will be taken on a food and wine journey that tells the story of the history and culture of Western Australia, with 100% local ingredients. The rooftop bar and lounge, Songbird, offers a playful native botanical inspired menu along with sweeping views of the Swan River.

The Ritz-Carlton, Perth offers 205 elegantly appointed rooms including 18 magnificent suites. The 2982 sq ft signature Ritz-Carlton Suite is the epitome of luxury with an outdoor balcony and floor to ceiling windows providing sweeping views of the city and Swan River. At 538 sq ft, the Deluxe Rooms are the largest lead-in room type in Perth.

Devoted to offering guests a holistic wellness experience, The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Perth uses its riverfront setting to encourage relaxation and reflection with bespoke pampering rituals. With its four idyllic treatment rooms, heated outdoor infinity pool, saunas and private yoga studio as well as two outdoor heated vitality pools with massage jets, a world class spa experience will undoubtedly be created.

Set to host some of the most inspiring events in the city, the hotel features 21,500 sq ft of meeting and event space that will make a lasting impression. The spacious amenities comprise the 5,900 sq ft Elizabeth Quay Ballroom along with numerous private spaces that overlook the stunning Swan River, Bell Tower or Elizabeth Quay.
