3 Holiday Pop-Up Bars Launch in NYC

Last week across Manhattan, three of NYC’s most favored all-year-round imbibing destinations will have debuted their holiday pop-up installations for the season. Think: 15,000 roses, a floral-light tunnel, a pink carousel and festive new menu items. Check out the pop-up openings below:

‘The Winter Rose Garden’ at The Lobby Bar at Dream Downtown

Meatpacking’s favored hotel lobby bar launched their first holiday pop-up installation which will be up until March 2020. Transformed into an all-red rose haven with 15,000 roses, The Lobby Bar is a rogue oasis for the holiday season with oversized rose walls, red furniture and candles. Design House Décor’s lead designer Laila Ahmed and Yvonne Najor Director of Marketing for Dream Midtown & Dream Downtown collaborated for the venue’s first holiday install.

New seasonal menu items curated by Beverage Manager Phil Testa and Corporate Executive Chef Brad Warner include *among others:

Primrose Cider ($18) — sparkling rosé, Barking Irons Applejack, cinnamon syrup, lemon Juice, rose ice cube

Winter Daiquiri ($18) — rum, simple syrup, Barking Irons white night, lime juice, apple slices

Dream in Roses ($18) — Campari, Pama, lemon, prosecco, fresh lavender

Pizza Bianca ($16) — roasted mushroom, whole milk ricotta, extra virgin olive oil

‘Midwinter Nights’ Dream’ at PHD Terrace

Midtown’s favored all-year-round rooftop bar will be transformed into a whimsical dreamland for the holiday season. Thousands of hanging twinkle lights, ascending series of winter white and gold floral installations, swings, lush greenery and pops of emerald and gold will live throughout the West and East Terraces. The beloved ‘tunnel of lights’ is decorated with over-the-top florals for guests to snap their photo. Conceptualized by Yvonne Najor, Director of Marketing for Dream Midtown & Dream Downtown, Najor collaborated with designer Jenevieve Penk, founder of Pimenta Productions, and artist & designer Ellen Robin of FlowerCulttt.

Giant Nutella Stuffed Cookie (Served with Bourbon Milk Punch) $100Good for large groups; Chocolate Chunks, Peanut Butter Chips, M&M’s, Pretzel Bites, Coconut, Toasted Oats, Bourbon Milk Punch

Peppermint Mojito ($17) — ornament filled with rum, muddled mint, peppermint syrup, lime, mini candy canes, mint

Goldtini ($18) — homemade almond milk, Ciroc coconut, creme de cacao, amaretto, gold glitter rim

Plumberry Smash ($17) — muddled blackberries, Milagro tequila, lemon juice, cinnamon syrup

‘Pink Holiday Playground’ at Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge

Manhattan’s largest hotel rooftop bar will launch their first holiday pop-up installation which will pay homage to the bright lights of Times Square and Manhattan. The rooftop will be transformed into a magical pink oasis with ceilings covered in hundreds of hot pink twinkle lights, oversized rotating mirror balls, and human-size festive bears all anchored by the central carousel.

New seasonal menu items curated by Beverage Manager Nikki McCutcheon and Pastry Chef Erin Cayaban include:

Pink ‘Dough Pie’ ($100) — shareable for 12; boozy apple cider doughnut-pie hybrid filled with honey crisp apples and drizzled with a maple bourbon glaze, topped with pink sprinkles and pink chocolate balls

Snow Globe Cocktail ($22) — cherry noir vodka, elderflower liqueur, white cranberry, pineapple and pink sprinkles

Disco Ball Red Sangria Tiki Punch ($60) — shareable for two; red wine, Ripe Bajan Tiki Punch, clove, cardamom, lime slices, pomegranate seeds, orange slices

For a full ‘pink’ holiday experience at Moxy Times Square, the hotel’s atrium on the 2nd floor will live as an all-pink space, wrapped in metallic ornaments with festive drinks.
